Detox Salad

One of the big questions clients always ask me, "What's the best way to detox?" My answer? Do it everyday in small ways! 

 

This is one of my favorite go-to salads. Eating this around three times a week paired with a lean protein will not only keep your liver and kidneys firing at optimal levels but help with bloating and weight loss. 

 

If you've noticed acne, fatigue, gas, bloating or other skin issues, it could mean a sluggish liver. This will help! 

 

Detox Salad

 

• handful of chopped cabbage (can get premix at Trader Joe's)

• 2 hearty handfuls of spinach

• diced carrots 

• handful of pomegranates 

• 2T pineapple salsa

• 2T fat-free balsamic vinaigrette 

• optional: add a lean protein like 3oz grilled chicken or tempeh on top for a complete meal

 

TIP: Cabbage does double detox duty. Its diuretic properties help rid your body of excess liquid, carrying toxins along with it. Like other cruciferous veggies, cabbage is also sulfur-rich, helping your liver break down toxins so they can be more easily expelled.
